We provide a range of IT services from onsite installations of custom developed intranets to provision of Software as a Service (SaaS) options, and we service a broad range of healthcare providers from independent professionals to Private Hospitals. We are now looking for talented a System Administrator to further strengthen our team.
As a System Administrator for The IT Hive your duties would primarily involve the installation and maintenance of web and intranet servers and associated applications. This would include providing support to users, and troubleshooting when problems are discovered with applications on those servers.

To be a perfect fit for this role you will need the following skills/attributes:
* Linux (CentOS, Debian and RedHat Enterprise Linux) skills
* Sun Solaris skills
* Database administration experience, including MySQL and Oracle 9i /10g
* Able to apply patches and packaging
* Experience configuring and maintaining Apache and Squid
* LDAP experience
* Experience with iptables firewalls
* Understanding of caching, load balancing, and high availability
* Demonstrate a good understanding of server security issues and web protocols.
* Demonstrate skills for proactively identifying and resolving potential problems
* A “can do” attitude
* The ability to work well independently as well as part of The IT Hive's National System Administration team
The following skills/experience would be desired (but is not essential):
* Experience with Shell scripting
* Program confidently using more than one language (eg, PHP, Perl or Python)
